This top quality Brazilian variety is produced in the Cerrado region - located in the state of Minas Gerais, the largest coffee-producing state in the country. Coffee has been a major crop in this region since the 1980’s. Cultivated at an elevation between 915 to 1219 meters above sea level, Cerrado beans are moderately dense, leaning toward a softer variety than other strictly hard bean varieties (SHB) grown at higher elevations. The Cerrado region is an ideal area for growing coffee due to the rich soil, consistent rains, high daytime temperature, and dryer winters.
